Where the Stars Still Shine
|
|
Where the Stars Still Shine" is a philanthropic organization dedicated to providing free medical care to impoverished people in developing countries. Our current mission is to help raise awareness and donations for the Modern Women's Clinic & Research Center of Prampram, Ghana. This free clinic provides the only hope for many local West Africans who live in extreme poverty and have no other access to adequate medical care. To help generate donations I will embark upon a ~3,000 mile, 5 month bicycle & mountaineering fundraising tour which will begin in Central Arkansas and finish where the Pacific Ocean gives birth to the Redwood Forest. The odyssey begins on May 24, 2010, one week after graduation from medical school at UAMS. Shortly after completing the fundraising tour I'm moving to Ghana to volunteer alongside Dr. Addo and dedicating my life to giving free medical care to those who have so little but deserve so much more.
